Any Twitterers out there?If you are watching it... do you think that it has any merit on today's society? Do you feel that Ashton is right when he says that this is the people's revolution against being force fed what news we get to consumer by big corporations? It seems to me that this was bound to happen. It was inevitable. I mean really... we as a species should have a more active roll in what we view as important. What we consider news worthy.
I believe what Ashton is accomplishing here is proof that in fact one voice does make a difference. If it was not for each and every person following him or CNN they wouldn't have a race at all. And sure... a lone voice might come off as meek and insubstantial... but is it really? I beg to differ. I think that the only way for us to evolve as a whole... is for our future to have the input from one and all. Only then can we truly say what we want to see happen... what is important... what is worthy of action... what kind of impact we wish to leave in our collective footsteps for the following generations to come.
For a voice to have an impact on society... it must be utter aloud. If it remains nothing more than a thought... nothing can come of it. Only when it has been stated... can it have an significance in the minds of others. Whether it is deeply impacting or not... is up to how many other people that statement is true to as well! And if enough people are speaking the same words... then it is quite obvious that at some point in time... people can no longer turn a blind eye!
UPDATE:
The verdict is in... and yes... one man's voice rang louder than a huge might corporations tonight as Ashton won the bet over CNN to get to 1 million followers first on Twitter. I can honestly say... it is about damn time! Personally... I hate the fact that these corporate entities are able to decide what is in my best interest at any given time!
